Relic and Recanati e Restauro will be among the speakers at the conference Use and reuse of paper in the pre-industrial world organised by the International Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works, which will be held in Cork, Ireland, on 27 and 28 August.
The focus will be the reuse of paper and its conservation. The study, which will be presented at the University College Cork – National University of Ireland, concerns the restoration carried out by studio Relic – Restauro Libri e Conservazione of an incunabulum dated 1497 belonging to the Historical-Franciscan Library in Falconara, and will focus on the research for methods and approaches that aim to preserve the historical elements of the book while maintaining the link with the ‘original’ position in which they were found and ensuring a correct reading of the stratifications.
This event will be an important opportunity for professionals from all over the world to meet.
